New T-Shirt Reveal: Where It All Started

After a long time of brain-storming and sketching, I'm happy to finally present the next line of t-shirts that I've been working on "Where It All Started." These designs are inspired by the video-games that influenced me the most growing up, and if it weren't for these classics, I wouldn't be so passionate about games.

These new t-shirts can be found on the Dapper Pixel Kickstarter page in more detail, as well as why I decided to use Kickstarter to help make these t-shirts. The Backer reward tiers can promise you the new designs in the same high-quality materials at great prices, as well as the potential of free loot for backers if the stretch goal is reached.

Status Update: Getting Back Into the Swing of Things

XBox price drop. Facebook buys Oculus. Reading Rainbow is coming back! It's amazing how much can change in just a month (especially with E3 just days away), but not only in video games. Over the past 30 days, my own personal life has seen an enormous amount of change. While I can't talk about all of it just yet, here are a few things that I can:

Year One... And The Year Before That

It was around this time last year, just a few days before PAX East 2013 was in town, I was sitting in my living room with boxes of t-shirts in front of me. Looking at those boxes, I couldn't help but smile and feel scared at the same time. A lot had happened to get to there.
I first started working on Dapper Pixel more than two years ago. Back then, I was working with a few of my closest friends on a gaming website where I created my first t-shirt. After getting a lot of awesome feedback about the t-shirt, I soon fell in love with the idea of creating my own gaming inspired t-shirt line.

Glory to Arstotzka!

Armed with merely a regulations handbook and a rubber stamp (and the occasional tranquilizer gun), Papers, Please easily became one of my most memorable games of 2013. I took the role of an immigration inspector for the glorious country of Arstotzka and quickly found myself in the middle of several conflicts and conspiracies, whether I wanted to or not.

After completing the game, I began thinking about how awesome it would be to show off Arstotzkan pride for others to see. One day I figured, “Why not try?” This then became a personal project of mine that I worked on when I had some free time here and there. With custom, one-off designs made by hand, each of the designs were done for the love of the game and a passion for creation.

Blog Reboot

Now that 2014 has settled itself in, it’s finally time to show off Dapper Pixel’s new blog format! While my blogging habits were erratic before, a new structure is in place to bring content and consistency to the site, who I am as a designer and gamer, and what Dapper Pixel is as a brand.

I was fortunate enough to have produced 9 different gaming inspired t-shirts in 2013, but you can bet your bottom dollar that I’ll have some new designs to showoff. Some of the ideas in the works are for classic games that, as a young’n, blew my mind and shaped my perception on video games.
